Each Wednesday we participate in our VCOP Big Write. This session forms part of an approach to
teaching writing developed by Ros Wilson with the aim of raising standards in
speaking, listening and writing.
VCOP stands for vocabulary,
connectives, openers and punctuation. Each of these literacy devices enhances
the quality of writing. During our literacy lessons we focus on various ways to
improve the VCOP in our writing and students then have the opportunity to
demonstrate their understand during our Big Write session.
'Talk Homework' will come
home with students each week before our Big Write session. A very big thank you
to all of the families who are helping the class with their ideas and WOW
vocabulary words.
It is amazing seeing the
quality and quantity of writing which is being produced. We look forward to
sharing this writing with you very soon.
